Hats off (tiaras off?) to our friends at Hotel Chatter for spotting that Her Majesty stayed at The Kampala Serena Hotel in her recent visit to Uganda.
The new Kampala Serena Hotel used to be the Nile Hotel, a government-run 65-room hotel.
It was leased to Serena two years ago and has been closed for 18 months for refurbishment.
It gets rave reviews on Trip Advisor - e.g. "I emailed five hotels in Kampala reference a two week stay for the month of April and the Serena was the only hotel to email me back. I have just returned and am glad the other hotels did not respond to my emails, as the Serena was a wonderful choice. Have nothing but good things to say,"
