Poor old Amy Winehouse.  Plans to make a comeback at this weekend's St Lucia Jazz Festival ended in a bit of a disaster, according to reports, after the singer had to cut short her performance.

Below: YouTube video footage of Amy Winehouse at the St Lucia Jazz Festival

While some reports (and Amy's spokesperson) place the blame on "technical difficulties", attendees at the concert suggest the singer was "unfit" to be on stage and blame her "painful" performance for the aborted gig after she apparently forgot the lyrics to a song and told the crowd, "Sorry, I'm bored".

But Winehouse does still have some supporters in St Lucia with tourism minister, Allan Chastanet offering the following comment:

"It's a shame it did not go better but we will bring her back in the future. We fully support her and hope she can get well. We have a lot of admiration for her."

Winehouse, 25, has been in St Lucia on an extended stay since last year and is recording new material on the island.

Rihanna has been spotted frolicking with a mystery man on the Sandy Lane beach, Barbados.

Rihanna on Sandy Lane beach, Barbados courtesy of Daily MailThe 21-year-old singer, who is an extended holiday in Barbados, is said to be finally getting over her split with singer Chris Brown who is in court today facing charges of assault and making criminal threats.

According to the Daily Mail's website:

"Brown is believed to still want a relationship with the singer and has pleaded with her to stand by his side. But it seems Rihanna is more concerned about the jewellery she lost on the night of the infamous incident than she is with him.

The pop star filed a motion last Tuesday asking the Los Angeles Police Department to return the jewellery they confiscated as evidence in the case. The earrings and three rings are valued at U.S.$1.4 million (£1m)."

Rihanna also spent some time in Barbados last week with new best friend Katy Perry who performed in concert on Saturday and another mystery man.  Seems like she is moving on and good for her!

Steady yourselves now ladies... long-haired lothario Peter Stringfellow has only gone and married his gorgeous ballerina girlfriend, Bella Wright, in Barbados this weekend - on Valentine's day no less.

A source in Barbados told celebsonholiday:

"Peter turned up at our hotel Almond Casuarina Barbados on Friday and Sunday to meet up with friends that were part of his wedding party.

"He was relaxed, happy and hung around most of the Sunday. It was the talk of the hotel although everybody just carried on as normal and were slightly bemused at his young wife.... Bella of the ballet dance ball - she looked great he however was wearing a bit round the edges!

"Fun to see him though... he has lived the life most guys would or could only dream of!"

We wish the newlyweds lots of happiness despite our heartbreak at Mister Stringfellow no longer being available.  Sob. It should have been me.

Amy Winehouse: mayhem in the Caribbean

|

Pity the poor holidaymaker headed for St Lucia's exclusive £200-a-night BodyHoliday at LeSport in St Lucia.

Amy Winehouse searches for her mind at LeSport, St LuciaThe resort, which promises guests "Give us your body for a week and we'll give you back your mind" has been home to Amy Winehouse since the New Year and, since her arrival, the raucous rocker has infuriated fellow guests and staff at the hotel with a catalogue of bad behaviour, which allegedly includes:

  • Getting drunk and stoned daily
  • Cavorting topless
  • Assaulting a honeymooning bride she thought had "glared" at her
  • Hijacking the piano from the professional player but being too drunk to play or sing
  • Stealing drinks from guests after a booze-ban imposed by management and hotel staff
  • Groping and insulting male staff

A source said: "Some staff have started singing their own version of Rehab under their breath when she's around. But they altered the chorus to sing, 'Just go, go, go'."

However, it's not all doom and gloom...

Fortunately no-one was hurt and the pair were able to return to the set immediately

By a bizarre coincidence, Saturday's quake struck on the 90th anniversary of the worst quake to hit the region, which measured 7.5 on the previously used Rossi-Forel scale

Did they or didn't they? Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon's alleged wedding has been the subject of much speculation this week, but according to E! News, they DID tie the knot last Wednesday, April 30 on Windermere Island, just off Eleuthera, Bahamas.

The site reports:

The ceremony took place on Carey's private estate on Windermere Island, just off Eleuthera. As for a potential honeymoon, a source tells E! News that as of Thursday night, Carey and Cannon were still on the island.

It's unclear when the couple of less than two months first arrived in the tropical paradise. Cannon appeared live on MTV Monday afternoon.

But per Bahamian law, couples are required to have spent at least one day in the island nation before they can get a marriage license, and bride and groom are required to show birth certificates or passports, as well as fork over the requisite $40.

Princess Beatrice in St Barts

|

Princess Beatrice is holidaying on the Caribbean island of St Barts with her American boyfriend Dave Clark.

The Sun website reports the holiday to be the "latest in a string of gap-year stops for Beatrice who is fifth in line to the throne"

Beatrice has taken in Argentina, Brazil, Spain and Belgium, not to mention two skiing trips to Switzerland.

She has also been spotted in Los Angeles.

The website also - in true Sun style - has a deeply unflattering photo of the royal teen, sat astride a jet ski. Poor girl

According to the Sun, ruthless Apprentice über-bitch Katie Hopkins (spouse nicking rated a mere 8/10 on the Hopkins ruthlessness scale) is pregnant and celebrating the news on holiday in Barbados.

The Sun website reports:

APPRENTICE bitch Katie Hopkins is expecting a baby with the married lover she was caught romping with in a cornfield.

The feisty blonde, 32, and boyfriend Mark Cross are celebrating their happy news on holiday in Barbados.

Love rat (and footballer) Ashley Cole, is reported to be planning a holiday to the Bahamas in a last ditch attempt to woo back his wife, Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Cole (nee Tweedy)

Ashley was busted back in January this year, after the Sun published details of his romps with Aimee Walton just five months after his wedding to Cheryl.

But, according to sources:

"Ashley has a tough task on his hands to even get his wife on the plane."

To try to tempt her abroad to sort out their problems, he has also offered to take her to a secret mansion he owns in Saint-Tropez as an alternative.

They could have more privacy there if Cheryl is embarrassed about being seen at a romantic resort with her cheating hubby.

A pal of the pop star said: “Cheryl accepted Ashley back because she loves him. But she’s finding it hard to put his cheating behind her.

“She could refuse the holiday offers all together. He has a long way to go before he wins back the place he used to have in her heart – and her bed.”
